Pitch Program
Whether you're struggling with a book idea, feeling stalled in your manuscript, or uncertain about your next steps, Lifetime Books offers guidance to help you move forward.
Through our three-tier development program, we work with writers to refine their ideas, strengthen their manuscripts, and prepare their work for submission. Participants also receive priority consideration when submitting their final manuscript for review.
To find the level of support that best fits your needs, we invite you to review the three tiers outlined below.
Tier One ($150): Structured Concept Assessment
Tier One is your basic-level assessment, designed to evaluate the potential of your book idea before you begin writing. This is where we discover:
- Is your concept compelling?
- Is your plot strong enough to carry a full story?
- Is there reader appeal?
This is where we step in.
We carefully review your submission to assess the clarity, structure, and overall plot of your concept. Our goal is to identify both the strengths of your idea and the areas that need improvement.
You will receive a 1-2 page written evaluation to help give your story clarity and direction. Our suggestions are designed to strengthen your idea and help you move forward with confidence. At Lifetime Books, we believe there is a story in everyone.
This tier is ideal for writers who are just getting started or those looking for early guidance before committing to the full writing process.
Included in this program is a priority submission review with the possibility of being published by Lifetime Books.
What we will need from you
Requirements from Author:
- Book concept / Story Description
- 1-2 page summary of the idea (up to 2 pages): What is the story about? Who is it about? What is the conflict? What is the genre?
- Main character descriptions: Who are they? What is their role in the story? Age? What do they want? What are their flaws and strengths? What is standing in their way? Who is the antagonist?
- Vision for the book: What tone do you want in the book? What is your intended ending? What is the problem or goal?
- Outline (if available)

Tier Two ($350): Big Picture Assessment
Tier Two is for writers who are past the idea stage and in the middle of their writing journey. Instead of wondering whether your concept works, this assessment gives you the clarity and direction needed to build your book. This is where we will discuss:
- Deeper story development
- Strengthen your plot
- Refine your characters
- Make sure ideas align
We will take a deeper dive into your submission, reviewing not just your concept, but the direction of your story as a whole. Our goal is to strengthen the foundation needed to carry a full manuscript.
You will receive a 2-4 page written evaluation that provides detailed insight into your story's development. This includes actionable suggestions to help you build stronger plot progression, deepen character development, and create a more engaging, marketable story. Our feedback is designed to give you clarity, direction, and confidence as you move through the writing process.
At Lifetime Books, we believe a strong story starts with a strong foundation, and this is where that foundation is built.
This tier is ideal for writers who have a solid idea and are ready to take the next step in developing their story and have fully committed to writing all the way to the end.
Included in this program is a priority submission review with the possibility of being published by Lifetime Books.
Requirements from the Author
- Expanded story summary (1-3 pages): Includes beginning, middle, intended ending, and overall plot direction
- Main character breakdown: Who are they? What is their goal? What is their internal/external conflict? Age (if relevant), strengths/flaws, and what is standing in their way
- Antagonist / central opposition: Who or what is working against them, and what conflict do they create?
- Story vision and direction: What tone are you aiming for (satire, dark, emotional, etc.)? What is the intended outcome, and what is the core problem, goal, or driving force of the story?
- Genre and targeted audience
- Outline (does not need to be perfect)

Tier Three ($550): Full Development + Publishing Strategy Review
Tier Three is for writers who are fully committed to their story and ready to take it to a publishable level. This is a high-touch, in-depth consultation designed not only to strengthen your story, but to position it for success. Instead of just developing your idea, this assessment focuses on refining your work into something truly compelling, cohesive, and market-ready.
This is where we will discuss:
- Advanced story development
- Full plot refinement and structure
- Deep character development and emotional impact
- Story cohesion and pacing (beats)
- Market alignment and reader expectations
- Publishing potential and long-term vision
We will take a deep dive into your submission, reviewing your concept, structure, characters, and overall execution. Our goal is to elevate your story by identifying what is working, what needs refinement, and how to bring everything together into a strong, engaging, and well-developed manuscript.
You will receive a 4-6 page written evaluation that provides detailed, high-level insight into your story's development, structure, and potential. This includes advanced, actionable suggestions to strengthen plot progression, deepen character arcs, improve pacing, and enhance overall reader engagement. This tier also includes a 30-45 minute consultation call where we will discuss your story in real time, allowing for deeper collaboration, brainstorming, and clarity.
At Lifetime Books, we believe great stories are built with intention, strategy, and strong execution. This tier is where your story is refined and elevated.
This tier is ideal for writers who are serious about completing their manuscript and want professional guidance to ensure their story is as strong, cohesive, and marketable as possible.
Included in this program is a priority submission review with the possibility of being published by Lifetime Books.
Requirements from the Author
- Expanded story summary (2-5 pages): Includes beginning, middle, intended ending, and clear overall plot direction
- Detailed character development: Who are they? What is their role in the story? What is their goal and motivation? What is their internal and external conflict? Age (if relevant), strengths and flaws, and what is standing in their way?
- Antagonist / central opposition: Who or what is working against them? What conflict do they create, and how do they impact story progression?
- Story vision and direction: What tone are you aiming for (dark, emotional, suspenseful, etc.)? What is the intended outcome or ending? What is the core problem, goal, or driving force of the story? Is this intended to be a standalone or part of a series?
- Genre and target audience: Clear genre/subgenre and intended readership
- Outline: A structured outline or detailed bullet-point breakdown. It does not need to be perfect, but it should reflect full story progression
